Today May 28, 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Gish, the first Smashing Pumpkins album that became the prelude to the event that come with the following albums. Produced by Butch Vig and Billy Corgan, was released by Caroline Records Company, a subsidiary of Virgin Records. Previously released singles I Am One (by Limited Potential) and Tristessa (for Sub Pop). Siva con sus correspondientes video cilps. After the LP came out of the singles Rhinoceros and Siva with their video cilps.
This album had a discreet success considering that the same year appeared as a monumental productions Nevermind Nirvana and Pearl Jam Ten. For recording Billy Corgan decided to play all the instruments except the drums, in order to achieve the result we expected, which brought more of a controversy within the band. Drown The issue was included in the soundtrack of the movie "Singles" which portrays the emerging Seattle grunge movement. In Chile it was known as "Living Single." The album title refers to the silent film actress Lillian Gish.
